I’m an author and I write books for young people (I sometimes write for adults too).
The Elizabethan Mysteries, published by Usborne, are set in Tudor times and feature Ben Button, a boy actor in the lively – and sometimes murky – world of the Elizabethan Theatre.

NEWS AND EVENTS
What am I up to now? I'm working on a new children's book (don't ask - it's secret!).
My new historical novel for adults, After the Fire, is a mystery set in the years after the Great Fire of London. It was published in April and is now in libraries - I hope you'll check it out.
But the really BIG news is that my last children's book in the 'Elizabethan Mysteries' series, Thief!, has been shortlisted for the Young Quills award for junior historical fiction, in the 8-12 age group category. The other shortlisted titles are The Half Magic by Annie Barrows, Day of the Assassins by Jonny O'Brian and Hetty Feather by Jacqueline Wilson. So I'm proud to be in such good company! The winner will be announced in September.
