NEWS AND EVENTS
What am I up to now? I'm working on a historical novel, the first in what I hope will be a new series.
Reviews are starting to appear for the second Betsy Brand mystery The Judas Blade (published last December). Rachel Hyde at MyShelf.com says the book 'makes for imaginative and thrilling reading... and gets my vote for originality.' Betsy is 'a likeable character and a resourceful and entertaining sleuth.' Encouraging! Somewhat confusing however is the review by the Historical Novel Society. The reviewer says the book is 'a real page-turner' and the plot 'genuinely exciting', while concluding 'There are far worse ways of spending your time'. I suppose that's a compliment!
The audio book version will appear later this year, as will the Large Print edition.
My children's book The Boy Who Squeaked is available in paperback from print-on-demand publishers Lulu as well as from Amazon. This is an uplifting story for 9-12 year olds, about a boy who is bullied at school and how he deals with it. Buy direct from them (www.lulu.com) or from Amazon - at a discount! Feel free to e-mail (see the Contact Me page) and let me know what you think of it.
